  • The series "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" on PBS has made me fall in love with naturalist John Muir all over again.
  • John Muir at age 75: "I wonder if leaves feel lonely when they see their neighbors falling." He had such a kind and poetic soul.
  • Would have liked being a friend of John Muir; he could have taught me so much, and deepened my own perception of natural beauty.
